Featured Replies

Anyone with an nVidia FX card (I have an FX 5600) using these new drivers have any comments or recommendations as to wether or not I should upgrade from the 45.23's which seem to be performing just fine?Thanks!http://www.2decker.com/media/solent1-2.JPGAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

The 53.04's aren't new, I'm using 56.62 and they seem to work real well. I believe there's an even newer set out now but I haven't updated yet.Jim

I've been using 56.64 for almost a month now with no problems. Using W98se, 1GHz AMD. Using the FX 5600 with 256 RAM.Randy

The ones on Nvidias site work really well(56.72), however I really like the 60.72's from Guru3d's site..

56.72x Starstorm here - most beneficial. Also 60.72's, very smooooth. Both superior to the `new` (hahaa!) 53.xx'sTry to keep an eye on the linked hardware forum. That's where these posts belong, and where the above have already been well covered.Allcott

I thoroughly recommend the 60.72s -I've had them 3 or 4 weeks now - in 4 different motherboards but with the same peripheral hardware (Short version of long story- upgraded from K7S5A/Athlon xp2000 to Asus K7N8X and xp3000- system ran a glitchily for week then refused to start- RMAed and got another - wouldn't run at all- not even a glimmer- RMAed after 24 hrs- decided to change to MSI KT6V - running fine so far).. On the present system getting very smooth performance with most things maxed out . fps up in the 50/60s in flight - high demand areas ( KSEA/KLAX etc ) around 25fps. The only thing I don't have at high settings is AI traffic - seldom go above 20% as I mostly fly online.Dave

I'm using the 60.72 with a fx5900 and they are working real well for me.:-) keith:-beerchug

60.72's give my FX 5600 Ultra a MUCH smoother ride. Follow the other posts to the guru website for the beta versions.

Thank you all for your help in answering my query. Randy, I have virtually the identical sytem as the one your running, so your experiences are especially relevant to my needs. And Alcott, thank you too but, and I know I should just leave this alone, but - MUST you lecture me about how to post, where to post it, etc.? I'm 42 years old with two young children and perhaps I do not have quite the amount of free time to devote to monitoring all forum's for all topics, so please, if it annoys you so, don't respond. No one else felt compelled to advise me on how and where to post. I apologize to everyone else here for wasting your time with this kind of commentary, but snobbery annoys the be-******* out of me. http://www.2decker.com/media/solent1-2.JPGAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

Alex, Not snobbery - politeness. There is a SPECIFIC forum for these questions and NOT posting there forces the moderators to waste their time locking this and move it to the correct location. Like so many others recently. It's becoming a bit pointless to have a separate sub-forum if no-one bothers to read the forum rules and post there. If you post in the correct forum you may get advice and guidance from those who frequent only that forum. It has nothing to do with the number of children you have or your age, (and I feel it highly inappropriate that you should gratuitously wield your children as a weapon to reinforce an argument in such a manner), it's to do with the ability to seek help in the most appropriate manner for your problem. Don't consider this a lecture, just positive advice. I am sure that the repetitive nature of many threads in these forums and elsewhere puts off many people from offering help as they feel the poster hasn't done enough (if anything) to help themselves by at least scanning the forum topics and using the search engine before posting on a topic that's been covered many, many times. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=1163&page=http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...sg_id=976&page=http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=822&page=2http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=864&page=2http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=767&page=4Posting the wrong question in the wrong forum when the answer was already in the right forum is not a great place to start. Posting a question that's already to be found strategically located in the correct forum is simply not polite. You might want to re-think where the fault lies.Allcott
