July 31, 200421 yr Don't know if this will happen to everyone, but..I put in DX9c yesterday, and today saw that nVidia has a new driver out (July 27th, 61.77)..so naturally I got it (fx5600, XP). It refused to work with DX9c at all so I got a screen full of assorted pixels, and zlitch on the DX trouble shooter. Grr. So, put back in my older 59.XX driver and it all works fine.
July 31, 200421 yr Interesting, I installed 61.77 and DX9C yesterday on my TI4600 and everything works great, in fact just a little better than before ( things are a tad smoother than before). You might try to re-download the file and try again, something may have gone screwy somewhere along the line. Best Regards,Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
July 31, 200421 yr I've installed both, and like you, Philip, have had no problems. Works just fine with my Fx5200 Ultra. Haven't noticed any improvement, but it is the only series of drivers above the 45.XX series that will work for me. Anything else causes lockups of the computer.Darrell
August 1, 200421 yr I too installed 9.0c and the new 61.77 with a Ti4200 128 meg ram card. Results are excellent. No stuttering, and shorter pauses. Exterior view scenes pop up instantly without any lag. I'm very satsified with this setup.Sherm
August 1, 200421 yr Just curious here, guys; I'm naturally intrigued as I'm running a Ti4200 128 as well with an AMD 2200XP (1.8GHz). I'd like to know what processors you're running and your take on all this 9.0c debate. If it's benefitting others, I'd try as well. Thanks for your time.Rick Rick
August 1, 200421 yr P4-1.8 here with 768 megs of PC2100 and a GF4Ti4200 card - in other words, hardly top of the line. As far as debates go, we might argue about what improvements there might be but I haven't heard very many people claim to have worse performance after going to dx9c and since its likely to become a fairly standard requirement for software over the next little while its probably worth installing...
August 2, 200421 yr I too have been having issues with this driver. I am running a nvidia 440mx 8xagp. The panel is running off the screen in full screen mode. It is fine in maximized window. Here is a screen shot for what it's worth.
August 2, 200421 yr I had no problems with that combination tho I've now moved on to the NVidia 62.20 drivers.System.MSI KT6V-LSR(MS-7021)AMD Athlon XP3000.768 MB 333mhz DDRAMTi4200/128MB GPU.62.20 driversMaxtor 80GB HDD(7200rpm)Maxtor 40GB HDD(7200rpm)LG CDRWLG CDR 52Xo/b AC97 soundThermaltake 480W PSUWinXP- SP1.Direct X 9cSaitek Cyborg 3D JoystickDave
August 20, 200421 yr I am having problems also.I have a Geforce 4MX 440 card and with my 56.72 drivers, every thing's working good. However, after installing the 61.77 drivers, my 2D panels are streched out in 640X480 pixels and everything gets funky looking. The virtual panels are fine however. Also the outside views seem to be OK.I can't view the videos using this driver. I upgraded to DirectX 9.0c, but that didn't fix the problem.I did a system restore, back to my 56.72 configuration and everthing is now OK.It's too bad, because the newer 61.77 drivers seemed to improve my overall performance.Scott.
August 21, 200421 yr OK, I did that, but no luck. So I turned of the antialiasing and it fixed the problem of messed up 2D panels. However, now the jaggies are back.I tried turning on the antialiasing both in the program and through the Nvidia panel, but with the antialiasing on, the panels are messed up.There are some issues with these new drivers on the older Nvidia cards. So for now, I will leave the antialiasing turned off. Maybe after the drivers become WHQL certified, this problem will be fixed.ScottUSAFA IFT Instructor Pilot - KCOS. KAFF
August 22, 200421 yr When going fromn the 50 series to the 60 series drivers it is very necessary to remove all trace of the previous driver using Driver Cleaner 3, or similar. Search the forum on Driver Cleaner for advice.Allcott
