August 24, 200421 yr >I just got my GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme from EVGA, what>drivers should I use with this board?.I recommend always downloading the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com for any GeForce card. The latest versions almost always have the best performance. I've been running on the latest (can't remember version number) for a few weeks now and have not had any problems.
August 24, 200421 yr Author Hi,Thanks for the help.Mike Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck
August 24, 200421 yr The 61.77's are the newest 'official' drivers from Nvidia, but as your card is so new, then the ones provided by the manufactureer can't be too far behind! If I remember correctly, these new 61.77's are the first that claim Direct X9.0C support, so if you're using DX9.0C then you may want to try them, just incase they offer any performance increase/enhancements....I see nothing different using my FX5900XT except just maybe a little smoother frame-rate...less stuttering when moving around on the ground, but otherwise I get a good solid 30FPS once out of big busy International airports, regardless of weather....(I'm using Chris...er...DAMN...I forget his name!! Sorry!! of FSWorld...his highest FPS set of clouds set is great..I don't use the dxt version, rather the 32bit set, as I think with the dxt version the Nvidia cards try anti-alaising the clouds leading to significant drops in frame-rate...the 32 bit clouds in his set give me no frame-rate hit at all....they look great yet may as well not be there for all the loss I don't get!!)Anyway...give us some performance reports/feedback on how your neew card is performing...I'm thinking of upgrading too, though I can't run to the ULTRA version...I'll stick with the GT I guess...so I'd like some kind of ideas as to how the new cards are performing! :)
August 25, 200421 yr Hi I am using an old GF3 graphic 64mb from Asus. Can I use the latest driver for this old card? I do have DX9.0cC installed for some time now.At present my drivers are 52.16 Nvidia. Thanks
August 29, 200421 yr You should be able to run the 6x series drivers...I concur that getting the certified drvers from the nvidia site is the way to go.For what it is worth, the 61.76 drivers work very well on my also quite old Ti4200 card.. Bert
