Stuttering landscape and background processes

Uuhooh, Greg, nooo, nooo! RD-RAM... A totally different ball game! My suspicion was you had DDR. I'm very sorry if I confused you! Case you would have been on DDR, your FSB could have been running at ca. 50% of its potential speed. My suggestions yielded in that direction. Nevertheless, fifty-something processes does look like a lot. I think the others are taking you down a legitimate path. Another noticeable item is, you're using the 3.9 Catalyst (a typo?). Furthermore, I not 100% sure but almost, that you can install and use the 'Intel Application Accelerator' (IAA) on your system. Case you could and you didn't, IMHO, it's warmly recommended to apply the IAA ASAP. After re-reading your latest words, it also seems, you didn't spread the RAM quantities evenly on both sides? What does your manual say about this? My somewhat unscientific guess is, to put 1 module of each on either side. Before getting there though, perhaps try the two 512MB modules alone (as you proposed), with -importantly- the C-RIMMs inserted in their original positions? Then benchmark and test your system extensively. You could perhaps notice a difference? After this initial swap, insert the two 128MB modules instead of the C-RIMMs and then retest and re-benchmark the whole system again. I'm curious. Thanks for your precise explination btw. It might have been helpful? Good luck and again, sorry for confusing you. Kind regards Jaap @ Bert, how are you getting along? Who's your OEM and what kind of gear do you have onboard exactly?

Jaap, I pretty much have decided to live with it.The issue only presents itself when I load up detailed add-on aircraft in VC mode. The default aircraft are fine.I think I am simply reaching the limits of what my system can handle. If I reduce the fps limit to 20 fps, the issue goes away as well. However, when I fly at 25 fps which is my standard setting, I get slight stuttering as the runway accelerates in front of me, and the fps dips every few seconds from 25 to 15 or so.. In 2d cockpit mode, no problem.Asus P4PE, 512 MB PC2700 memory, P4-2.4 @ 2.8, Nvidia Ti4200-128 @ Ti4400 speed.
