November 19, 200421 yr I did compress my FS9 folder because some folks were making wide claims here that it would greatly speed up (or smooth out) the FS. I did not see any such performance benefit (nor performance penalty) but since I saved some space - I left it this way. November 20, 200421 yr Hi Andrew, your CPU is definitely good enough. AFAIK, it's not recommended for CPUs < ca. 2000MHz. Furthermore, you'll need 15% free drive space to defrag. Compressing delivers approximately the same ratio. Thus if your HD is full and you compress it, at least you should be able to defrag again... Have you decreased the temp folders and garbage bin? You can also gain drive space by not having an imongous pagefile. Good luck and kind regards Jaap
