I'm buying a laptop with widescreen 17" tft screen and wondering:would the 2dpanel be stretched to fill the whole screen, of would it be drawn in the middle of the screen leaving two empty bars on both sides?the resolution would be something like 1400*800 or similar rather than standard 1280*1024....thanksLuca

it would either be stretched or in the middle, it depends on what settings you use. You can either set it to stretch to fit or not, the default is to stretch to fit as this allows you use of different sized textures for more detail or less load, the default is 1024x768, even is the game is played at a lower or higher resolution. for the panel o look right you would need to make a custom panel, the 3D views would not be affected.
