Hithought i'd try here for an answer..can only do very short flights..sometimes don't even get off the ground..before Fs2004 crashes to reboot...must have reinstalled fs2004 at least 10 times in last 3 months..i've tried everything..machine is relatively new,its only months old..hmm i hear you saying..has anyone here had a reboot problem that they have solved..i'm willing to try anything to sort this out.i can leave computer on for 12-14 hours with no problems...but as soon as i load fs2004 ..bang it crashes.i have tried stripping away all my addons ..only used activesky4.5...and ultimate traffic..but it still crashed.winxp sp2 reinstalled at least 5 times in 3 months any ideas appreciated steveAthlon 3500+64 939 giant coolermaster heatsink Abit Av8 939 pin1gb ballistic memoryx800 powercolor 256mb catalyst 5.4coolermaster stacker case extra fans on MoboAudidgy 2 latest drivers

First thought that comes to mind is whether your power supply is up to the task. When you load up FS9, it creates a real heavy current load on the power supply due to the video card, memory and CPU all increasing their power demands. It also appears you have some case fans connected to the motherboard as well. That has never been an optimal configuration, again a reduction in the amount of power available to the rest of the peripherals.Just a thought, and I'm sure others will have ideas.

Hi Steve, without knowing any details, there are two things which spontaneously pop into mind; like Jim mentioned, first a bad power supply. Second, that something is wrong with the mainboard's AGP driver install. With SP2, you should install the SP before you install the drivers (4in1 v.4.55 or newer ones). Good luck and kind regards Jaap PS, in the 'Control Panel'--> 'System' there's a setting which prevents your system from rebooting automatically.

Hithanks for help..my power supply is the ENERMAX Noisetaker..i bought the 485w version just before xmas last year...i can leave computer running for hours without problem...its only when i use Fs2004..or another online game i use, that the crashes occur.i took out my Audidgy 2..thinking it might be that...but crash still happened..i'll try installing the 4in1 agp drivers..and see if that does anything..CPU is running hot even with massive coolermaster fan on it..54c.could that be problem???amd's run like that i think anyway?? best wishes steve

Sounds like a clouds... render to texure issue. Check to see if it is checked or unchecked

Hi jimthe extra fan i use is an addon fan which connects to the powersupply directly..its the coolermaster fan which blows across the motherboard and memory.the other fans are case mounted.the case is the coolermaster STACKER.enermax noisetaker PSU 485w.should be able to handle the load..i hope.its all 4-5 months old.i can leave computer on all night downloading stuff with no problems..but as soon as i put on Fs2004...within 10mins...BANG...crashes to reboot, with the Bluescreen of death .. thanks for help anyway..appreciated best wishes steve

hii use Flight enviroment by Flight1.render to texture is enabled and i'm using 32 bit ..problem is this happens in the only other software i use..Call of Duty united offensive online..but i will uncheck the render to texture and see if that helps Fs2004... thanks steve

Steve,We are both using the same motherboard and processor (if your's is the 90nm winchester version) and it appears your power supply is up to the task.My processor reads 17-18

Hi jimi did use paste, when i installed a new heatsink.its the Gigabyte 3d rocket pro.it has adjustable speed.i use 3/4 speed.i don't use cool n quiet..couldn't really understand what it did...so didn't use it..my CPU does seem to be running hot...ill have a look at the heatsink..thanks again JIM appreciate your time steve

it sounds to me as if you are getting a heat problem, the fact that the PC runs for many hours when not under heavy load, yet crashes within a very short time when running power sappings apps. have you made any changes to your BIOS, you may have the shutdown temp set to low. there is a program that puts a load on the PC for testing purposes, you may like to try this. s a final idea, wha about the shop where you purchased the PC, it should not be doing what it is so there is clearly something wrong, a good idea to approach the shop.

Hi brucei'm going to check the heat problem as we speak..shutdown temp is on 85c..this PC is a home built job.something i've done 3-4 times now.1st time i've had problems like this though.absolute nightmare because it could be one of so many things...i try to use very high spec hardware (best i can afford)my video card was nearly

Hi Steve, reading the specs of your PSU, it spontaneously popped out of mind again as a possible cause! AIM, the order of installing the 4in1 drivers is important. If you installed SP2 after those drivers it could be an explination. Perhaps check viaarena.com for more infos? Best is to install SP2 first and then absolutely install no 4in1s prior to v.4.55. With SP2, only v.4.55 and later driverss will not screw XP's AGP mainboard bits and pieces. Another thing worth trying (apart from the other suggestions), is to remove 1 RAM-stick and check whether things alter. Good luck and kind regards Jaap

Hi Jaapi'm using 4in1 ver4.56..i did install them after SP2..i checked the heatsink.Abit motherboards have a known problem with reading the CPU temps, shows it 10-15c above what it really is.i checked memory heat last night, i dont think its that.i use a coolermaster horizontal FAN,which blows directly across both memory chips(ballistic 400 type).hand touched them and both seemed cool. Jaap thanks again for help best wishes steve

Enermax make very good PSU:s so it

thanks Pari'll run some tests thanks steve
