May 30, 200521 yr EVERYBODY should read this....It might just make the current P4's (non-dual core) the most coveted and prized CPU/motherboard chipset in the VERY near future. I would suggest after reading the offered article, that you do NOT get rid of the current P4 system you have now. Stating again,....in the very near future, you might just kick yourself if you do!!!!!!! After reading this, I am now most content to NOT upgrade my Dell Gen 3 Pentium 4 P550 Prescott Core. It does FS2004 just fine. They can take their lock-downs in firmware and shove it! Too much Big Brother. Too much of late.... My IBM model T40 Pentium 1.5 GHz (without BIG Bruising Brother imbedded in the CPU and CHIPSET) will do me just fine as well. I get near to 24 FPS continuous right now anyway.Everyone considering a NEW purchase to replace what they have, should at least know what else is coming with that new CPU and motherboard chipset that you did not ask for....If all of a sudden, Intel sees a drop off of demand for their 'lock-down' chips, they will back down and reconsider. Economics against AMD will prevail. If AMD does not go the same path...what a wind fall they will see...My two cents...Cheers!Mitch R.

June 3, 200521 yr If Microsoft has their way, AMD will soon follow.... I'm sure AMD has their own fritz-chip-enabled cpu/chipset/whatever's in development if not already on the market... Declared weather: FSX: ASN / FS9: ASE
