CH MANAGER Installation Problem

Featured Replies

Month ago I reinstalled XP and no issues on anything until now. MSFS runs, and everything with it installed fine. Now I try to install CH MANAGER 3.6 for my yoke/pedals. However now when I click on the setup.exe file I get the following error box:CAN'T RUN 16-BIT WINDOWS PROGRAMCannot find c:CHInstallSETUP.EXE(or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.I have downloaded and reinstalled this several times with no success. Anyone come accross this? Suggestions?http://www.lemosnet.com/misc/gpilotsig.jpg

Is there a specific want/need to the CH manager software? If not, one suggestion would be to not install it at all. As long as everything is recognized in and is calibrated by Windows, there shouldn't be a problem. Any fine tuning can be done with Pete Dowson's FSUIPC program. This is only a suggestion; your mileage may vary...

Hi glsimpilot,The problem occurs in most cases because the XP install or update has failed to restore the AutoExec.nt and/or Config.nt files. They're on your HD somewhere, if you put them back where they belong the install should run okay. It's just that without them, XP won't run 16-bit apps and the InstallShield program uses a 16-bit startup program. Another option might be to go to Control Manager 4 which uses a different (purely 32-bit) installer and doesn't need the 16-bit support.Hope this helps!Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com
