January 18, 200620 yr Be warned - I purchased E-dimensional's 3D glasses a long time ago and they NEVER worked, even though they provided tremendous support And no refund was offered! Kinda turned me against their other products even though they look superb, I'm not sure I want to get burnt again.Del.
January 23, 200620 yr Amazing... ordered on thursday from Taiwan got it today monday in Sweden... And only 12 buck shipping. Have packages from the US which has already taken more then a week to ship by air...the lens was well package but still it had gotten a crack in the lower or upper part depending on how you hold it ;). I had expected glas but it was plastic. Maybe it would cause less blur if it was glas but then it wouldn
February 3, 200620 yr Author All right.. I tried out a new lens.I ordered the Fresnel Lens 34 inch WideScreen. It cost me a little bundlehttp://www.aviationmegastore.com/?shopid=L...d=276&art=55676This thing is huge... but I liked the widescreen aspect of it...and it also goes with the DELL 24" widescreen monitor...except its too big for the 24" monitor..It also comes with a stand so you are not holding it with your left hand.But..but...Maybe, it doesn't magnify so much or something or its that I don't understand fresnel concept, it does not give me the "infinity" perspective that the F550 does. The lens is a little curved, so you have to sit on the sweet spot.. once you do that, the 24" monitor really becomes a 35-40" monitor..but the virtual 35-40" monitor seems to be pushed back further. so, this is basically a screen enlarger more than what I expected off a Fresnel lens. The concept of infinity. I still prefer the F550. Only wish it was sized for the 24" monitor.I think, the only good solution IMO, is to have 2 X 21" LCD screens setup as one screen in FS9. I forget the resulution that is need for that 2xxxx X 786 or something.. in which case you will have the cockpit in both the screen with a monitor bezel in the middle, but with two F550 lens, close to one another make the bezel disappear. Now you will have one contiguous widecreen view.Except.. I don't own two 21" LCDs :)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 5, 200620 yr That stand does it stand on the desktop where you have your keybard/yoke or such or does it attach to the monitor? I may ask if I can buy it separetely if so... My #### setup is starting to collaps. Now that
February 5, 200620 yr Author The stand sits on the desktop. Its a nicely made lens... It too is plastic. I am not sure if you want glass unless its all perfectly setup for your sim.But I somehow prefer the F550 as far as the technical specs of the lens is concerned. I don't know what the spec is for this big widescreen one. Like I said..this one seems to work as a screen enlarger. Its very similar to F550 for sitting in the sweet spot. I am not sure if we can do otherwise with any of these Fresnel lens. But I see the problem of how do we physically set the F550 up.....I don't use Track IR. I had the Track IR IV Pro for a while...but I never cared for it...and yes..placing that camera could be a problem. What and how many monitor do you have? If you have two 21"LCD monitor.. making it like one widescreen monitor with two F550 could be a great solution.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 5, 200620 yr Ok. I am thinking glass is more clear then plastic so was hoping for a bit less blur :).My setup I thought was going to hold up has collapsed now. Am going to go back to use without for a while to see what I preferr. I did notice how sharp everything became all of the sudden. I also thought the monitor kind of became small :D.But I will see. I will for sure use the fresnel for movies that
February 6, 200620 yr Author Hi Par."Perfect image quality or big size . Quantity or Quality "I don't look at it that way at all. If I did... Quality wins out everything. I go as big as possible (within Quality). Otherwise, I would have spent the $1200 that I spent on the Dell 24" and gotten a DLP Projector or maybe even a HDTV for this. The Fresnel povides (Atleast the F550) the concept of dpeth/Infinity. That is a new experience or value added quality that a monitor without the fresnel does not. But Since I am not a good handyman, I have the problem of mounting it properly. (Like you).:)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 6, 200620 yr But stereo3d glasses does make a much better job at giving depth and also height to objects. I would probably go for a 40" widescreen or something if there was any that supported extreme resolutions. Otherwise you get the same issue as with the fresnel lens. Everything turn low res. What I mean with better image quality without it is no blur, everything is sharper and clearer. Have tried GTR a bit without now and it was weirder going back then it wasto switch to the fresnel setup. But it was amazing to see the clarity of the textures and everything without blur or anything. Really sucks there is always drawbacks with everything :(However it made it obvious how much a larger screen enhances the 3d effect on stereo3d glasses. Running 100 % and it felt flatter then it used to... Still much better then only the Fresnel of course (which of course is a big improvement over default) but the larger screen the greater the stereo3d effect with these glasses obviously. I am quite sure thats the only reason why I felt it harder on the eyes...So I do feel I will probably preferr the fresnel/stereo3d setup in the end. And run without it when I want as high image quality in games that doesn
February 7, 200620 yr Author The issue with Stereo is that It needs a CRT..right? which is a no go for me.Can I do it on my 24" LCD monitor?Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
