January 30, 200620 yr Did you download LtcyCfg? Scroll about 3/4 of the way down page for the download. Very easy tool to use. A quick install, a couple mouse clicks, and then a screen shot here of what LtcyCfg shows will be helpful. You should do this before going any further.Would be best if you removed the Creative card, but you can try disabling in it Device Manager. You should uninstall the Creative drivers (as much as that's possible with their stuff) and then use [link:www.drivercleaner.net/]Drivercleaner Pro] to clean them from your system. Follow the Readme carefully for a thorough cleaning. But all this is wasted time if you do not know what motherboard you have and whether or not it has on-board sound. What we're trying to do here is eliminate the Creative card. Testing with any[/i other sound device could help lead you in the right direction to the problem's cause.Greg
January 30, 200620 yr <>I don't. I have been a customer of theirs for years and even had reinstallation problems due to faults of my own but they were patient and got me a replacement key without whining.By the way, regarding the cold coffee, it depends on how the complaint is tendered. One has to complain within the limits of decorum...or get tossed.(-:Jim
January 30, 200620 yr >I'm not sure what mobo is in my PC since I didn't build it>myself. I beleive it's an Asus, but I'm not 100% sure.>Hi azflyboyThere is a program called... Everest Home Edition...which will give you some excellent info about your computer(what kind of mother board, ram etc).the company has discontinued the free version but you can still find it at majorgeeks or google for it.look for version 2.0.Is this the same problem you tried to get help with at FSD way back in September 2005 ,or is it a different one?Brentps...I agree... hardware forum time.
January 31, 200620 yr Consider this. FSD is the only company in business (except maybe that Ariane thingy) that has annoyed some legitimate users to a point where you cannot post their name without starting a flame war. I usually refrain from posting in these threads because my own experience with them is 2 years back and it wasn't a pleasant one (until that incident happened I bought all of their aircraft).I only say so much: I think they have earned the bad reputation not for their products, but for the way they treat some (!!) customers that have a problem they do not want to accept. I know from my own experience that the "bashers" have every right to speak up. At least as much as the praisers. It is a shame though as the products are excellent up to the point where you have a problem. I guess it is just a matter of the old rule that you do not get developers in touch with customers. That is what marketing is for.Alex
