This is my computer specs:AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (no overclock)ATI 9800pro, Catalyst 5.9512mb x 2 memoryAusus A8V motherboardAny response is appreciated.Charles
April 12, 200620 yr I don't think it makes any difference what version you are using as far as FS9 is concerned.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...argo_hauler.gifhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
April 12, 200620 yr I can't say I've noticed a whole lot of difference when it comes to the Cat drivers.I always run the latest to keep up to date. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
April 15, 200620 yr Dunno...Drivers are kind of a weak point when it comes to the 9800 pro...At one point I was usingthe omega driver, but noticed a few things I didn't really like. At first I thought it was faster, but now I'm not so sure, as I'm back to a catalyst driverand getting the same frame rates at startup...One goofy thing with the omega driver...You would see a clipping effect on the props you see from the VC. At first I didn't notice it, but finally did, and thought, hummm, I don't remember it doing thatbefore...Sure nuff, when I reverted back to the catdriver, the prop was smooth again without the clippingeffect I would see. Right now I'm using the 6343 driversand all seems fairly normal. Those are the stock XPdrivers that came with the card disk. I didn't see much difference in any of the various catalyst drivers I've tried as far as frame rate. The stock drivers on my disk seem about as good as any, and thats what I'musing right now. April 16, 200620 yr I just went through this and tried about a dozen drivers, ranging from the 4.11 to the latest 6.xx. I finally settled on the 5.12 drivers as best for my system. I didn't see a lot of difference in fps, so I was looking for the best reduction of "shimmering" and stutters. I believe this was the last driver before the new Catalyst Control Center, which use a lot of system resources. It's all very dependent on your system and prefered settings, so my advice is to set up a test scenario flight so you are always comparing the same aircraft, airport, weather, etc. Be sure to use a driver cleaner when you switch from one driver to another. The latest driver may not be the best for this graphics card.Dale Dale
