May ATI Driver Updates?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if or when there will be a monthly video driver update for the ATI cards? The month of May is almost over and the last update was the 6.4s. The last Omega updates were 6.3s.Terry

GURU.com has the 6.5 beta drivers pending the approval of MS to bless its compatibility.JimYoung

I will wait till the Non-CCC version comes out. I cannot stand the MS CCC and neither can my computer. Intel P4 2,8 with 1 gig or 3200 and ATI 9800 Pro. I have been using the Omega with the older style CP interface.Terry

I updated to the 6.5 ATI drivers, but had to roll back to 6.4. The 6.5's made my 2d panels blurry and I got a lot of strange red flashing in front of the aircraft I was flying. I cleaned the old drivers off using drivercleaner pro, per the instructions, but it didn't seem to take. So I just rolled back to 6.4 since I never had any issues with those. And before anyone asks, yes I made sure there were no duplicate video card entries in the fs9.cfg.

Just went through the update process from 6.1 to 6.5 for my X800XT AIW and have to say this has been the WORST experience I have ever had in updating drivers. To cut a long story short, 6.5 porked my TV card drivers and even when system restoring it took nearly 8 hrs of reloading various different AIW drivers, mouse drivers (FS FPS would drop to 2 at Seattle when the mouse hovered over FS with any AA enabled), dot net drivers, and just about any other driver that seemingly had nothing to do with lockups, BSODs and crapo performance. Finally got it all working again with the 6.1 drivers about an hour ago, after being on the verge of reinstalling windows from scratch. I thought NVidia drivers were crapola, with it taking nearly a year before a tooltips problems with FS was finally fixed, but ATI takes the cake ATM for the most difficult to recover from porked drivers!Gary

well...same thing here, very bad experience with the 6.5. (strange artefacts and flashes)I'm happy (sorry....) I'm not the only one with this problem because my card is new and i was wondering if it has a glitch.Rolling back to 6.4 immediately!!David
