July 28, 200619 yr i have a small laptop and someone wants to trade me my laptop for the following:Pentium D 820 Processor 2.8ghz775 Socket; 800 FSB2megs of L2 cache1 gig of dram160 gig hd SATA 2PCI-E Nvidia 6200 w/256Megs of video rampluss of course the usual, ethernet card, dvd/cd reader/writer, etche is taking a hit on the laptop but he doesn't care, i just want to know how the above is, it sounds not to bad... im curious as to how the above compares to my desktop now:amd athlon 64 FX-55 2.61Ghz2 Gigs of high speed rampci-eati radeon X850 w/256megs vidramthanksciao!Brian S Ciao!
July 28, 200619 yr It certainly would not be better than your current desktop rig.If you need another desktop, then go for it.If you were thinking of replacing your current desktop, then no,no and double no.I would keep the laptop. July 28, 200619 yr That's not as good as what you currently have. But if you want to get the Pentium D 820 as a second system, you could do that...if you think it's an even trade for your laptop. July 29, 200619 yr Author well thats good, thanks, i think i will hangon to the laptopnow a little off topic and switching, i am very happy with my current amd rig, do you think it will do ok/be fine with FSX? to early to tell, but im betting it will be ok, ive been flight simming since the mid 80's to see this type of new version of fs over and over again:1. it previews; everybody boos, oh terrible im sticking with [latest version]...2. it comes out, nothing much said3. people find out it runs really not to bad on there current system4. 2-3 mths after release: oh wow its the greatest thing ever and they never look back, until next release, then start over with #1LOLciao!Brian S Ciao!
