Core 2 Duo & FS9

Greetings...just a note. As I've posted before, I just built a new system for upcoming FSX. That was my intention at least. But first, before I digress let me describe the PC.Asus mobo, P5B DeluxeCore 2 Duo 6600MSI GeForce 7900 512mb ram (DVI only output)SATA RAID for game drivesSATA boot drive2 gigs Kinston memoryViewsonic 19" LCD 4ms responseAs a test, I cranked everything up to max, including textures (does realy make a difference when vid card can support them...END OF BLURRIES, PERIOD).I have never seen FS9 so good. Avg 45+ FPS in densest of situations. Crystal clear graphices. Very realistic.Anyways, the purpose of this post was to share this info with other simmers, and to suggest that I for one, may spend a lot more time with my FS9 investment, since I've made this new investment.Anyone else out there with a similar system, please chime in with your viewpoint.Cheers,bt

I definitely agree. I also am seeing much improved results in the FSX beta 3. Also, make sure you are using the latest nVidia drivers. I believe they are the 91.47 drivers, released about 2 weeks ago.

With the FSD Cessna 337.It really looks good. FWIW, I just read an Intel marketing release. The big claim is the chip's ability to seriously multi-task. While I know that FS is not taking advantage of multi-threaded operations, the environment, XP is.The results are obvious and encouraging.Intel has a winner here. MHObt
