November 22, 200619 yr Now that Vista RTM is released:If you'd like to help me test DirectX 10 and FSX performance please drop me a PM. I just need ONE person please, so first come first served.I will respond to the person I feel is best suited and you will get a free (LEGAL) copy of Vista Ultimate out of it for your trouble.
November 22, 200619 yr I would do it but ill be out most of the weekend. BTW, there are no video drivers for the 8800 series cards for vista yet as they are unreleased by nvidia. Last i heard it won't be until next week some time. It appears that nvidia may have hired away ati's driver group judging by the quality and quantity of their drivers over the past 6 months. :(PM me with what you need and what's involved as i may be back saturday night. I have a spare 250gb drive that i could use for the install and a copy of vista rtm on my desk to test with.
November 22, 200619 yr Just sent you a PM. Would like to know more info on what you want done though. Since the FSX patch for DX10 is not out yet not sure what you are testing.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

November 22, 200619 yr We need the nvidia 8800 vista drivers or we won't be testing anything. There are many of us waiting for these drivers. As far as I am concerned, the dx10 patch is at worst a myth and at best 3-6 months away.
November 23, 200619 yr The system I have just built: Asus P5W64 WS Pro Socket 775 Motherboard /EVGA 8800GTX GDDR3 768MB/Corsair 4GIG PC6400 DDR2 800MHz/Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 2.66Ghz Quad CPU / Zalman Reserator 1 water cooler/ 2 WD Raptor 150gig 10,000 rpm Drives in Raid O Mode/WD Raptor 150gig internal back up/400 gig External WD back up Drive/OCZ 600 Watt PS/Sony Dual Layer DVD RD/RW/Sony CD RD/RW/ Thermaltake Kandalf Tower/ Sound Blasters X-FI Platinum Sound System . Do you have a patch for DX10 because Visa already has DX10 but when you install FSX it over writes and installs DX9c. On the 8800 card there are no current 64 bit drivers for the video card. The 32 bit drivers will work once you model the INF. file but the drivers are still unstable for any type of real testing. I posted this thread at SOH on the issue: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=30478
