December 29, 200619 yr I mugged Santa, and got a HP dual core E6400 media system with ATI 1500 card.Ok, here is what I see.Frame rates...astounding, no pauses...just smooth.Scenery very dense, and sliders far to the right.Triliner set, but ansitropic too sharp and unrealistic.Traffic at 40% with busy airports and ALL other sircraft seen if in range.Road traffic 40%, with New York amazing! All airports maxed out and all crystal clear.Aircraft model and cockpit maximum texture and realism.Animation full on. Jet ways, fuel trucks et al buzzing around. Aircraft wings flexing and responding to weather. Near to puke bag response!(lol)Rain? Does not stick on window, but rain effects on ground amazing! Snow the same. Puddles are clearly seen.I have made a video of a taxi in Airbus 321 at Denver, through snow showing puddles. If I knew how to post it I would!AS6 a dream!I have followed my usual behaviour in installing a new sim upgrade. Been doing thsi since Bruce Artwick and Sublogic days. This behaviour, is to tweak nothing! Let the computer take the strain!I have always maintained, possibly wrongly, that the operating sysatem 'learns' as we go along. Each reboot of FsFx and I believe things get better.Niggles? Yes a few, but, nothing to cause anger or loss of sanity. I will continue pushing sliders up until I stutter. However, as it stands I am a very very happy Fs owner. This is teh flight sim I have imagined I would get. No, its better!I was running FsFx on my old HP 2.4 with GEforce 5500, and was getting along OK, being accustomed to frame rate issues at large airports, long loads, delays in updating, but still flyable. Now I look out of passenger window of 321, over wing, and *** myself at the rendition of flexing wing, over approach at 0-500ft, with sheer speed being beuatifully rendered. 150kts is fast at under 100feet! I just love the speed brakes and flaps descent that gets the airbus wing IMHO perfect. It always amazes me in real world passenger view, in real airbus, just how little of wing is left with full flaps! So, that is my experience. A good one, with an astounding flight sim that has my city better modelled than ever before.regards,
December 29, 200619 yr My mistake.ATI 1600 Radeon! Have had Geforces for ages, so first ATI in about 8 years!PC world, Boxing day, total price
December 30, 200619 yr I agree with you, the Dual Core's do the job with FSX. Caution when you get to adding AI and dense scenery, but keeping the sliders in more moderate positions helps.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
December 30, 200619 yr The problem is your focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now. Good luck.
December 30, 200619 yr No...the problem is people like you, who have false visions of self- intelligence and self-importance. So, you ""don't mean to be rude"? I submit that you intended to be very rude."Knowledge I have given you now"??? You have offered no knowledge, most likely, because you have none to offer. So, unless you have any constructive input to offer, go take your sorry-####, pocket protector bitterness, and pleasure yourself, as surely no one else ever will. What a doofus you are!!!>The problem is your focusing on the things in life that don't>really matter. December 30, 200619 yr Who the #### are you? Please tell what planet you occupy? To be pitied by by someone who writes a message like you have, makes me certain that I am on the right track in everything in a life you have still to join!
December 30, 200619 yr Have you no clue that my message was directed at GJ? I expressed no pity on you..only criticism of the the bashing of people trying to solve a technical problem. To tell you the truth, I hadn't even seen your message. I'm thinking you're suffering from the same dillusions as GJ.
December 30, 200619 yr What? What? Where did all that rancor even come from? Did I miss a message? A guy posts how is new system is running FSX pretty good, one asks about his Video, then...what the heck happened?
December 30, 200619 yr I agree. I merely responded to GJ's "bashing" of the original post. It seems to have spurned a resentment that I couldn't even begin to explain. Can't we all get along?
December 30, 200619 yr You replied to my message!Check back!Anyway what is the point in writing a meaningless message like that!
December 30, 200619 yr The all to common usual Avsim nonsense. All posts I write are I hope touched with humour, self depreciating in many ways, as I admit my 360 senior moments an hour!I have been with this forum for many years, and was one of the original members of the old Compuserve forum where the 'daftness' of us, in our all consuming 'hobby' was happily accepted with us all helping and laughing at each other.Avsim used to be like that!I am an educator, and can often see in the writing style and word/grammer usage, the penmanship of adolescent males. We are all still adolescents males in many ways, but some posters link together what they consider impressive phrases, join them up, and seek approval from their peers!I am not ashamed to admit my delight in my new system and how FsFx is running and looking, and am happy to just tell what I am experiencing to challenge the negative stuff that has appeared over the last few months.I mostly ignore 'daft' replies, but anything I consider abusive, I will often challenge as we all have done. Thanks for that!May I suggest a wee Glenlivet as 2007 arrives, I got a 12 year old special boxed bottle for Xmas.Slainte!RonMacScotlandNearing the big 60, but actually 14.
December 30, 200619 yr Congrats on the new system. I have no idea how this topic got so off track, but it's great that you are able to enjoy FSX. It's a great sim and has helped me a lot in many areas of my real pilot training. Enjoy! And one great thing about AS6 is you can load weather from the past. Be sure and check that out (if you haven't already). Fly through some hurricanes, or snow storms. Fun stuff.Sammie
December 30, 200619 yr :-jumpy Whoa steady lads!!! Why is this forum so volatile!?I was really enjoying the story of Santa being mugged for a rig that has made someone really happy with FSX, and then suddenly out of nowhere, came a ballistic missile and messed up the whole joy of the read. :-roll Most of the threads that have been here about FSX, have been from those who have not been so fortunate with their experience as 'rmce', and I think most will agree that there are some "Fixes" required so that the majority of us can have a similar experience to 'rmce' but without having to mug Santa again or being exposed to loose missiles flying recklessly about.HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL and lets keep it that way here on this brilliant website. xxxPalebushmanOnly 20fps'sbut lookingforward, happily. :-spacecraft Dave VH-DBW Toowoomba AUSTRALIA Form, is but the manifestation of inner contentment.
December 30, 200619 yr Palebushman,<< think most will agree that there are some "Fixes" required ...>>Indeed I agree. Even with my new rig, 'bring to front' through task manager takes three months or so! So, on this evidence even 2GB Ram is not enough!I am getting white flashes at night as I change A/P settings. I accept that this is probably an ATI issue.ATC happily still vectors you to landing aginst wind! Not every time, but has to be watched. Default Airbus has wind direction showing back to front, but fixed by download from this forum. Also 737 niggles fixed on same download.Without this forum, I would not have the fix, and would have been wondering why flight model was so strange on landing, refusing sometimes to 'plant' onto the runway!Centre of gravity is a tad suspect, but with correct loading jets much more stable.Pushing Scenery complexity all the way to the right, and terrain rendition at maximum, I can sense the stutters at large airports..just not as fluid as at smaller airports. So, to date 3/4 sliders seem to be allowing smooth everything.Have not noticed water effect at X 2, changing frame rates, and effect from say 1000 feet of sun on waves is amazing!Sound is good.LG 19" widesceen Flat Screen is only DVI input from ATI card so resolution 1440*900 at 60HZ. I am not totally convinced that slight fusziness around dials is monitor or ATI card.Ground traffic happily crashes into each other and goes through each other like ghosts. Still to see fuel truck coming to load!Scenery area 151 does not seem to exist. Is this really area 51? Spooky??I will happily post niggles as I find them, but accept that there will be more!reagrds to all,
