An error is an error I guess. 4 mintues is rather quick, what were your temps, core temp is a good app to check? You could bump your CPU volts one step.I dont believe in the stress testing with Orthos for days. It's like taking a car for a test drive an saying well I have drive for 24hrs at full speed to see if it works :)My stress test is some quick Orthos, then to use the PC as I would do normally under heavy loads. I fly FSX, with Google earth running, encode some videos, etc. Take Orthos really taxes a PC like no app I've ever seen.I have my Q6700 3.3GHz at 1.312 volts in the bios, cpuz reports it as 1.288 when running which is normal,I get temps near 60C at most. If I ran Orthos on all 4 cores I bet it would get much hotter.

My temps with Coretemp were 34 - 38C at idle and 50 - 52C at load. I bit the bullet and realize that I bought a bum mobo for overclocking the quad. It's great for Duo's but iy sux big time for quads and from what I can tell, Asus will do nada about it. I just removed it and it is now in the closet unless someone wants it cheap. A $250 lesson. :(Ordered anb evga 6801 board from newegg - should get it mid next week and I can start again.FWIW, even pushing Vcore to 1.50 , memory to 2.2 and NB Core to 1.4 I could not get above 2.996 with that cpu and mobo. I've seen enough BSOD's for a lifetime.VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/

http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/this is what I used to test my stability. You can setup a test run of anywhere from 6 minutes to over an hour. I used it to achieve a stable oc, and have been running great ever since. It is called OCCT, you will like it.Danon O.

No problem!Keep us updated on how it goes. When mine was unstable it crashed out in 10 seconds, when it is stable, its stable for good.Danon - -
