October 22, 200718 yr Hi everybody, I play FSX SP1 Deluxe on a AMD X2 3800+, 2GB RAM (PC3200 DDR 400), Asus A8R-MVP 939 Motherboard and ATI 1900XT card with Windows XP fully updated. I had till today only 1024MB RAM (G.E.I.L. - 2 modules of 512MB PC3200 DDR400 CL=2,5-8-4-4). But today I got my new 2048MB (again GEIL 2 modules 1024MB PC3200 DDR400 with CL=2,5-6-4-4). I had my PC slightly overclocked (directly from BIOS options, +10%, so I had 2200MHz per core.) Before I installed the new RAM I reset the overclocking back to normal. After I installed the new RAM (the old is not installed so I got 2GB) I wanted to set the overclocking again and I see that my cores are at 1600Mhz!!! How can my cores under work?? Is this possible? If anybody knows why this happened and maybe a possible solution, please help me on this, thanks in advance, itifonhom. P.S. I will reinstall my old RAM to proof if it
October 22, 200718 yr Sounds like Cool and Quiet is kicking in, which drops your CPU speed when not under load. Load up your CPU with something (eg. FS9/FSX, prime95, Orthos) and see if your CPU speed goes back up to 2.2GHz. If it does, don't worrry - it's working fine.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 23, 200718 yr I suggest you download a program called CPU-Z, and it will tell you what your clock speed really is.If your sim is the same speed or faster, I wouldn't worry about what my BIOS says.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
