October 25, 200718 yr I am using Ch Pro Pedals with a CH Flight Sim Yoke. The problem is that the rudder pedals won't stay in calibration. I can calibrate them with and without FSUIPC and they work fine. The next time I either boot my computer or go into FS9 or FSX, the rudder is either offset to the right or it may work ok to the left or just very little to the right. I have even taken the pedals apart and checked everything within. Except for being a little dusty all seemed to be ok. I have no problem with the yoke calibration-it stays in cal. I've checked all cable connections and cleaned the potentiometer. After calibrating, the pedals work smoothly until the next time.Anybody else have this problem or any suggestions? Thanks.Jim
October 25, 200718 yr Hi Jim,Any chance some other device is trying to control the pedals or rudder trim? I had a similar problem and traced it to my CH throttle. It's also possible to have an assigned key or key sequence that could cause a conflict. You might try backing up your fs.cfg file and let FS build a new one to see if the problem persists.Hope this helps,Dale Dale
October 26, 200718 yr Author Hi Dale,Never thought of that. I'll check the items you mentioned and see what I can find. Thanks.Jim
October 26, 200718 yr jimAnother couple of things to check:Make sure tha the same axes are NOT assigned in both FS and FSUIPC.The sensitivities for all AXES should be full right and the null zone full left.Calibrate in Windows before "fine tuning in FSUIPC"As Dale says check every other button or axis assignment and make sure none are duplicated.Once you calibrate and fine tune with FSUIPC exit FS and restart to see if the sim has retained your settings.Peter Hayes
October 31, 200718 yr Author Looks like I finally found a fix for this problem. After trying all the suggestions that were submitted and finding no soulution, I decided to tear into the pedals again. This time I removed the potentiometer and checked it with my ohmmeter. I found that the resistance across the pot was approx 100K ohms. That is ok but when I turned the shaft, the total resistance was changing. Shouldn't happen. The total resistance should remain constant. The resistance between the center lug and either of the end lugs was changing ok as it should.I went on and ordered another pot from CH but in the mean time I reinstalled the pot and put the wires on the opposite lug. Of course this made the rudder work backwards but I just cured that problem by checking the Invert box under the axis setting tab in the calibration box.Hope this helps anyone else that has erratic or malfunctioning pedals.Jim
