December 6, 200718 yr On the CH yoke, what does the serrated-edge vertical wheel generally map to on FS9 aircraft. Also, it is very hard to rotate. Is this just peculiar on my yoke or is it like this on most of the CH yokes? Thanks.Roger
December 6, 200718 yr It's meant to be used as elevator trim, but I haven't found it very useful. On my yoke, rotating the wheel produces way too much impact on flight characteristics. So I just leave it centered and never touch it.Jim Harnes
December 6, 200718 yr According to CH Products, the wheel was designed to be used to center the Y axis. If, for example, your Yoke is centered but your plane is climbing (or descending), then use the wheel to achievive level flight. After that initial setting, leave the wheel alone and use elevator trim within the sim (Numpad 1 and Numpad 7). R-
December 7, 200718 yr Hi Roger,It should be centered and then never touched again. It actually moves the pitch pot, and if it's off center too far it can result in asymmetrical response once the calibration gets done with it. It will also throw the calibration out of whack. If you've got the USB yoke, the ideal center value is 128. If you've got the Control Manager installed, look at the Raw Data display and adjust it as close to 128 as you can. If you're just using XP, there a checkbox along the way that allows you to see the raw value.Probably you won't be able to get it exact, but close is good enough. After you adjust it, recalibrate and then use the FS trim functions. You'll go through a lot less grief that way.Hope this helps!Best regards,- BobThe StickWorkshttp://www.stickworks.com
