December 29, 200718 yr I just installed the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke and Throttle Quadrant Combination.Only the throttle lever works. I want the blue lever to control my prop pitch and the red lever to control my mixture. Here is what the manual says:Quadrant controls and corresponding functions in Microsoft Flight SimulatorFunction of Quadrant Axis Default function in FS 9 and FS XAxis Z axis: ThrottleRx axis: FlapsRy axis: Spoiler When I go to the Control Axis Panel (Under Settings/Controls in FSX) I can't find any Rx or Ry axis to assign. I'm pretty green to mapping assignments.... What do I need to do?The throttle lever is Axis Z, and the Ailerons and Elevators account for Axis X and Y. But where do I find Rx and Ry axis???Right now, my red and blue levers are doing nothing, unless they are operating flaps and spoilers in some heavy iron, which I am not flying.I did not install the Saitek Smart Technology software... Is that required? Thanks for the help,Steve
December 30, 200718 yr Calibrate it within windwos first (did you install the drivers? You NEED to) then use FSUIPC to assign it in FS. December 30, 200718 yr Author Thanks Nick... I didn't know you had to use FSUIPC. Since I have FSX and with Simconnect and all that, I don't have FSUIPC. Also I did install the drivers for the yoke, which I THINK included the drivers for the connected throttle quadrant. Did you have to install separate drivers for the throttle quadrant? I didn't think that was necessary unless your quadrant was a stand alone version add on, or a second Saitek quadrant.Take care, Steve
December 30, 200718 yr You do not neeed to install any drivers. However, if you want the clock to function in your yoke you must install the supplied drivers. All you have to do is go to control settings within FSX. Choose Control Axes tab, make sure Saitek Pro Flight Yoke is selected, select an item such as Throttle Axis, then move the lever on your controller you wish to assign to the throttle axis, next choose Propeller Axis and move the lever on your controller you wish to assign to the porp, next choose Mixture Axis and move the lever on your controller you wish to assign to the mixture. That's it! ;)You may want to toss around the idea of getting a registered copy of FSUIPC cause it will allow you to make custom profiles for each aircraft and allows much, much more flexibilty, than FSX itself does for programming your controls .
December 30, 200718 yr Author Sargeski,When you say "move the lever," I'm assuming you "move the axis" from another assignment to the prop, mixture etc. ... not ... move the lever phsically.2 Problems:1) The only axes I have showing are the x, y, and z axes which are currently assigned to ailerons, eleveators, and throttle, respectively. There are NO other axes there. The manual spoke of Rx and an Ry axes, as being assigned to the prop and mixture levers respectively. However neither of those two axes show up on my contrl axes page in FSX.2) When I push the change assignment button, a dialog box opens that says "Move the joystick axis that you want to assign to the "Propeller axis" event. The problem is that when I try to type the name of another axis (right now x,y,z are the only visible options and I couldn't use those anyway)... I am not allowed to type ANYTHING in the field and when I push a keyboard key, all I get is the error chime in my speaker.I hope this is clear. You may have received an e-mail from me on this subject. Thanks for your help. Any other ideas?Steve

DO NOT TRY TO TYPE ANYTHING!! FSX will automatically added the proper axis name.
December 31, 200718 yr Author FINALLY!!! Thank you, Sargeski. I got it going correctly. I've never mapped axes or buttons before. I thought you had to type everythng. Now i am on my way. Have a Happy New Year! - Steve
