Saitek: X52 vs. X52 PRO

Featured Replies

Hi all,Look, I want to buy this joystick but stuck into a "simple" question: [color:red]which one?![/color] - the conventional or the Pro version. The prices are different (Pro is almost double expensive)... But the features listed on Saitek's website are not that different except for some extras in the Pro version which I don't understand since never had any stick before... I'm not sure about their practical applicability, to be honest...Putting simple, I don't wanna waste extra 100 bucks for a few features I'll hardly ever use. But if you guys can prove the opposite, I mean if you can explain why the PRO features not found in X52 are important, I'll be happy to consider this question closed :)Thanks,

Regards,

What type of aircraft do you normally fly?(I have some idea from your sig.;)) and do you presently own a yoke? The Pro is built with better quality parts and contains twice as many hall effect sensors (the sensors add quite a bit to the price but also add alot to stability within a sim).Bottom line when it comes to controllers...You get what you pay for!

Well, it's a shame but, as I said, I havn't owned any stick before... Therefore, I cannot compare two or more pieces of this hardware due to a lack of any practice with joysticks.I'm actually thinking of buying X52 plus Saiteks rudder pedals instead of wasting my money for a bunch of extra features found in Pro which I'll hardly understand and will use in future. But if you guys say Pro is much better than the conventional one I'll either need to wait a bit until I get enough money to buy both (stick + pedals) or choose the stick only.

Do you own a flight yoke yet??

If you're into the big iron, go for this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16826102008and this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16826102003And you're set! With that throttle quad you get different levers, where on the basic X52 you only have a fighter jet-looking throttle
