Getting reverse Thrust from Saitek Thr. Quad

Featured Replies

I bought of pair of Saitek Throttles, and have everything just fine but the reverse thrust. Just can't get that function. MSFS Assignments doesn't have this listed, so I bought an FSUIPC registration. That gave me reverse, but then I get a serious micro stop every second, extremely noticeable during taxi and landings.I've updates every driver I could, tried all the suggestions I could find and it's still there. I noticed that it even does this jerk pause while scolling through the FSUIPC commands while trying to find the right one. Anyone have a cure for that jerk pause, and is there a way to get reverse thrust by inputting commands into the FS9.cfg file? This is driving me nutzoid.Mahingan

The reverse thrust portion of the throttle quad (the red banded area) actuates a switch (just like pressing and holding a joystick button) when a lever is moved into the red banded area.I have found it best to map the button press in the red area to actuate your reverse thrust.Since you have FSUIPC it's best to map the button press directly to a FSX control. If you are programming a twin engine plane for instance with throttle one in the red zone you would program the button press to THROTTLE1_DECR via FSUIPC and when throttle two is pulled into the red zone program the button press as THROTTLE2_DECR via FSUIPC.Now, if you wish to set this up for a 4 engine aircraft things will happen a bit differently (this is only one way of accomplishing this as there are many combinations you could choose). You will have to assign one of your throttle quads to engines 1 & 2, and your other throttle quad to engines 3 & 4.Using the conventions above we would want to assign the commands THROTTLE1_DECR, THROTTLE2_DECR, THROTTLE3_DECR, and THROTTLE4_DECR.Now here's where things change a bit. Since I have one Axis assigned to engine 1&2 throttle, I can only issue one command via FSUIPC for the button press to actuate reverse thrust (when the throttle is pulled into the red zone) but I actually need to assign two commands for reverse(THROTTLE1_DECR, THROTTLE2_DECR).Set your engine 1 reverse (THROTTLE1_DECR) command via FSUIPC. In order to set your engine 2 reverse (THROTTLE2_DECR) command you will have to do some advanced FSUIPC programming (editing the FSUIPC4.ini file by hand).Go to the Buttons.AircraftName (AircraftName is the name of the aircraft you are programming) section in the FSUIPC4.ini file.Look for a line that contains C65966 which is the command for THROTTLE1_DECR .The entire line will look something like this:17=R2,20,C65966,0 (R2=Device, 20=Button Number of Device R2)So now we are going to issue another command for when R2, 20 is pressed which is THROTTLE2_DECR. The THROTTLE2_DECR command is C65971.After the 17=R2,20,C65966,0 line we are going to add a new line for the second command which is THROTTLE2_DECR.When finished you should have something similar to this:17=R2,20,C65966,018=R2,20,C65971,0That's it. You've now issued two commands to reverse thrust on both engines 1 & 2 with one button press (when a lever is pulled into the red zone). Repeat the steps above for engines 3 & 4.I hope this quick explanation makes sense. Please be sure and read your FSUIPC documentation along with the FSUIPC advanced users guide. A list of FSX or FS9 controls is also included with your FSUIPC.Again this is an explanation of programming for FSX. FS9 will be the same except that the control numbers for FS9 may vary. You are best off asking Peter directly about the microstutter issue at his FSUIPC forum located here: http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=54

Works fine on my freind's Saitek Yoke.

My reversers work great on my Saitek throttles.
