Rhett,I would say the AffinityMask entry is not needed.However, I am getting around a 0.4fps bump on Gary's (RESET MCP ALT) FSXMark07 by using AffinityMask=14. It's just enough + to mess with my mind, so I leave it in the fsx.cfg.On my quad Opteron, according to TaskMngr, it's the 2nd Core that is not being used (unlike some other posters who have said it was the 1st core that will not be used with AM=14).Rob O.

Sargeski,That qualification makes sense. I just don't want people thinking that a quad is automatically better when clock speed is the main factor with this sim and quads are clocked lower than duals at the same price point.I am now back in Oz, but am still my sea freight removal (which contains my desktop computer) delivery away from being completely moved in. I had alawys heard that going to quad will not make much of a difference in fsx, because fsx isnt a true multicore application. Is that different now? Do you need sp2 to take advantage of a quad?
