March 13, 200818 yr Hi all,Just got the Saitek rudders and I have set the toe brakes to differential braking.Problem: when I apply the toe brakes and release, the differntial braking does not stop, just keeps braking. I then have to either apply manual braking or the other toe brake wheich then gets stuck the same way.Question: how do I hget the diff braking to work properly...ie to relase the diff brake when I let the rudder toe brake off?Thanx for any help.
March 13, 200818 yr You need to reverse the axis. Right now your brakes are always applied when at rest, and fully released when you press on the toe brakes. Reversing the axis will cause the brakes to be released when at rest and be fully applied when pressing on the toe brakes. ;)
March 14, 200818 yr Thanx for the reponse. Doesn't fix it though. Here's what happens: I hit one toe brake and the diff brake activates but when I relase the toe brake the diff brake stays on.Further, if I now use the other toe brake, the actual brakes come on (it says "brakes" at the botton left instead of "differential brakes").The only way to clear this is activate the parking brake and relase which releases all brakes.FUBAR.
March 14, 200818 yr ......and the differential brakes work properly after applying and removing the parking brake? or do they revert to the same behavior?
March 14, 200818 yr What happens is that when a toe brake is applied they now release hbut the genberal bbrakes come on and stay on. Dunno why.
March 14, 200818 yr What you are describing is EXACTLY what happens if the brake axis is reversed. When using differential brakes and both are applied on full it will show as "brakes" in FSX not "differential brakes".As I previously stated reversing your brake axis will correct this behavior.
March 28, 200818 yr So, I read this whole thread and thought "Great! that is the *exact* problem I am trying to solve!"Went to the controls panel of FS-X, clicked through the menus and got to the place where you set the right toe and left toe for the differential brakes and clicked on the "REVERSE" check box.Unfortunately, the problem was not fixed :(What have I forgotten or not done?Robb
December 16, 201114 yr I would like to give this topic a new KICK, 'coz I have the same problem... It's set to REVERSE and I have calibrated a HUNDRED times now, and updated the drivers, but I keep having the problem that whenever I use the brakes, the brake stays activated, even when I remove my foot from the pedals. Only setting and releasing the PARKING brake, will bring it back to 'normal'...In the settings, I see in the properties for the pedals (tab 'TEST') that when I do nothing, the cross is in the middle. After I touched the brakes and release them again, the cross stays in the upper left corner... I guess this tells something about the setting being wrong, but don't see how I can correct it...Help please???
December 17, 201114 yr I had this problem and solved it by by pulling the slider in the Null Zone setting to zero, slide it all the way to the left, it worked for me. Good luck. RegardsPaul EGCC Regards Paul EGCC

Good luck. That sounded TOO good to be true. And indeed, it didn't work for me... Set everything to zero, but still the same problem... Any other ideas???
