I have 8800GTX Video card. nVidia driver is version 6.14.11.6371http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/186428.jpgHmm...This is annoying!1. What causes this?2. How to eliminate or reduce it?Anyone? Beta tester for SIMStarter

Manny,I don't know why, but now and then I get a flash of this problem when panning fast in VC or in spot view. The distorsion only lasts for a second.I'm using the beta 174.12 drivers (7.15.11.7412) and I also use nHancer.Ulf BCore2Duo X6800 3.3GHz4GB RAM Corsair XMS2-8500C5BFG 8800GTX, Creative SB X-FiFSX Acc/SP2, Vista 32

What you are seeing is normal with ALL nvidia drivers above 158.x-16x(as I recall)it happens here too but ONLY on initial flight boot and first exterior pan.. after that its gone... been that way for months thanks to Nvas for the OP.. if that is something that stays on the screen I would suspect a card overheating or a bad driver

Thanks Nick for the info on noVidia.Ulf B

Manny - I find that toggling back and forth between windowed and full screen mode a few times clears it up.VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.65Evga 680i A1 with P31 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioned for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx 174.16 XG o/c 702/1620/792Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-supporter-sigbanner.jpg

The fact that the lines are not going through the plane seems to point more to a faulty terrain mesh.Does it ony occur in the same area or does it only happen in fsx. ??

I always thought this was a rendering problem based on FSX not getting enough resources to run the sim. Reading some of the other threads, I'm confused. I can easily replicate this in FSX by turning my FSX scenery sliders to max, loading the PMDG 747, and turning on stormy weather, then launching FSX at KLAX. The spikes would result in a CTD with a message stating I had run out of memory and telling me to turn down some of my settings. I turned down all my sliders and I don't get the spikes or the crashes anymore. I still have crisp and clear scenery like yours in your post.My system specs: Intel Core2 Extreme X6800 CPU (overclocked to 3.73GHz); 4GB DDR2 SDRAM; Dual768MB NVIDIA 8800GTX in SLI mode; NVIDIA 680i SLI MB; 1KW PSU; Vista Premium OS; Creative X-FI Sound Card; Dell 3007WFP 30" Monitor at 2560x1600 resolution.Best regards,Jim
