New SB X-Fi Series Driver 2.15.0006 Released

Featured Replies

Just a heads-up that Creative has released a new driver for XP and Vista OS's that resolves the issue for systems with 4GB of RAM and the Digital I/O detection issue when restarting your computer. I'm getting ready to install the new driver and just maybe it might fix something, maybe not...http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/w...asp?action=nextBest regards,Jim

Ty Hawk!Maybe this will fix the c130x sound related crashes brought on by c130 sp1. Problably a Captain Sim problem, but it doesn't cost anything to hope./off to dl now.

"Maybe this will fix the c130x sound related crashes brought on by c130 sp1. Problably a Captain Sim problem, but it doesn't cost anything to hope."LOL. Yes, the driver upgrade will fix the problem because it's not the application at fault but the hardware drivers causing all the problems (a little tongue-in-cheek statement).Jim

This is awesome. All of my C130x / Creative drivers issues are now fixed. I can now load all the sound.gau files and everthing works properly. No crashing, and my sound is back. Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up again!

Huh, you're saying it helps?I own the original Xfi board, the xtrememusic, which they dont sell anymore.would it help me? Are there any performance gains to be made from this driver?

"Huh, you're saying it helps? I own the original Xfi board, the xtrememusic, which they dont sell anymore. would it help me? Are there any performance gains to be made from this driver?"I never said it would help but the updated drivers supposedly do fix a couple of problems. Since the driver update is free, I don't see why you don't at least install them and see if they improve things on your computer system. You can always uninstall them and go back to your original drivers. My only complaint with the drivers so far is the fact they are not WHQL certified. Vista and XP have been out for some time now and you would think they would have released WHQL drivers for the X-Fi board by now.Best regards,Jim

Same card I have, the original xfi xtreme music.

Hi , Jim, in my case (XP), these drivers are WHQL (march,4th).Regards.Miquel.

"Hi , Jim, in my case (XP), these drivers are WHQL (march,4th).Regards.Miquel."Thanks Miquel. I see some of the SB drivers are WHQL but not all for Vista32. DirectX diagnosis indicates the ctaud2k.sys is not WHQL and dated 5/11/2007 (Version 6.00.0001.1302).Best regards,Jim

Thanks Miquel,Strange:I have --6.00.0001.1302 dtd 5/11/2007 - Vista 32 NOT WHQLYou have 6.00.0001.1283 dtd 25/2/2008 - XP (WHQL)Let's see, 1283 comes before 1302... seems something is not right. I'm going to reinstall the new SB driver again and see if I can get an updated ctaud2k.sys WHQL driver for my system.Best regards,Jim EDIT: Just reinstalled Subject drivers and this time it states6.00.0001.1283 dtd 25/1/2008 (same as yours) but NOT WHQL. Maybe if I reinstall one more time I can get the WHQL?? LOL

Thanks for the heads up on this driver i just installed in on my SB2 audigy (yes you can install this driver on older creative cards by unpacking the exe and updating the driver via the control pannels system hardware update driver option and pointing it to theSBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006DriversSBXFfolder)And now the enviromental audio in FSX is much clearerThanksGizmo

I thought it was just me experiencing the placebo effect, but it does sound better imo.

GizmoNow do you "unpack" the exe - just run it into a folder of choice? or must you inzip it in some way?thx for infoNigelVancouver

Hi NigelWell i Just used Zip7 to extract the exe to a folder then pointed the device manager update driver option to the SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_15_0006DriversSBXFfolder Hope that helpsSteve
