September 26, 200817 yr Any experts on game controllers here?I am having this problem that is driving me nuts.I am running up-to-date Win XP and have Saitek Cyborg 3D stick which plugs into my USB port. When I boot up I normally see the icon for the joystick show up in my bottom toolbar. But there are times when it is not there, I go to the control panel and then to game controllers and Windows is telling me I have no controller installed. When I plug the controller in and out I can hear the "ping" sound but still - the controller is not there.I am not sure if I can make the stick to appear consistently at the boot time but if it is not possible what do I do to at least load time afterward. Otherwise I am resigned to keep booting the system in hope that I finally see the stick ... Michael J.http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/9320/apollo17vf7.jpg Michael J.
September 27, 200817 yr Well...I have never had my joy stick show up in my task bar. That is with Vista or XP. Most controllers seem to load their own drivers, or windows loads basic drivers to make them work. Under settings, go to controls and see if your controler is listed. You may need to go to the web site for your controller, download and install the latest drivers, even if you think you already have them.Bob Bob i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.
September 27, 200817 yr Hi, I've never used the Cyborg..but with the X36..X52..and now the X52pro, the only time I ever saw the joystick icon in the toolbar was when I once installed the SST software on the X36. Did'nt like it, and uninstalled it. They all worked perfectly by simply installing the latest drivers as advised by Bob, but of course, without the SST...no icon in the toolbar.Russell.
