October 10, 200817 yr Hi BruceHaving looked around - you are correct the 9800 seems to have replaced the 8800GT and GTS. There are fewer sites selling the 8800 series now. I agree about returning stuff under warranty it costs me around $30AUD to get stuff back to Sydney. RegardsPeter Hayes2340
October 10, 200817 yr I like the 9600GT series. Tom's Hardware is about the only hardware tester who regularly use FSX SP2 as a test. Take a look at these 2 Tom's pages.Note how poorly ATI/AMD video cards run FSX! It sure opened my eyes.http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon...on,2007-18.htmlhttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/GeForc...ck,2028-18.htmlI seem to recall Phil Taylor saying video card memory was important and especially what the card maker has done to the memory speed. I think he said the GPU speed wasn't as important as the video memory bandwidth.I've been drooling over that Palit 9600GT 1MB with the 2ghz DDR3.Did he not also say a Quad core will run FSX better than a Dual Core even if the clock speed was slightly lower?K
