November 6, 200817 yr I now got a 19" TFT with 1280*1024. Can I use a 24" with 1920*1200 without any hit on performence? With my current system that isAMD 64 4000+2 Gb PC3200 RAMNVIDIA 7950GT AGP 512M DDR3Win XP Home
November 6, 200817 yr Hi,You may have a problem with 24" @ 1920x1200 with the specs you listed, as higher resolutions will have an impact on performance, FS version notwithstanding. My system runs at that res, and works great but, I think you might already be on the high side of your performance envelope. That's just my guess. I hope this helps you.Regards,Jeff
November 6, 200817 yr Your machine is about like my old one. I used to run FSX at 1024 x 768 and it ran great and fluid and fast for me. However increasing res was a different matter. I predict that 1920 x 1200 will not be a good experience on that system. The only way to know for sure though is to try it out.RhettFS box: E8500 (@ 3.80 ghz), AC Freezer 7 Pro, ASUS P5E3 Premium, BFG 8800GTX 756 (nVidia 169 WHQL), 4gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Cas7 7-7-7-20 (2T), PC Power 750, WD 150gb 10000rpm Raptor, Seagate 500gb, Silverstone TJ09 case, Vista Ultimate 64ASX Client: AMD 3700+ (@ 2.6 ghz), 7800GT Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
November 6, 200817 yr jfri-if performance were to be a problem (and it might) you could always retard some FS settings to compensate.I'm running 3072x768 resolution on a 5 yr old Athlon 1.8- with Autogen off, Clouds= simple and AI no higher than 30. Runs very smoothly, no stutters- with Ultimate Terrain & Ground Environment full blast to offset the degraded FS settings!Alex Reid(triple/views, monitors @ 1024x3x768= 3072x768!)DreamFleet Bonanza CYYJ R09 AMD Xp2200/1.8, 2GeForceFX5200 GPUs,2GB RAMhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194102.jpg

FSX is what I have experience doing this with.RhettFS box: E8500 (@ 3.80 ghz), AC Freezer 7 Pro, ASUS P5E3 Premium, BFG 8800GTX 756 (nVidia 169 WHQL), 4gb DDR3 1600 Patriot Cas7 7-7-7-20 (2T), PC Power 750, WD 150gb 10000rpm Raptor, Seagate 500gb, Silverstone TJ09 case, Vista Ultimate 64ASX Client: AMD 3700+ (@ 2.6 ghz), 7800GT Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

That could get a hint. And the hint I got from trying this is that I didn't notice any hit on performence at all. It seems that here is where my new 7950GT shows its power. It can handle higher resolution without loss off performence.
