Good Checklist. I may steal it and use it for the race. Might want to insert a check for:[*] Prior Leg baton free post up and verified under 2hrs.Need to make sure we don't do a premature departure if we have a required wait penalty.

Great idea, Buzz! I've been working on an abbreviated a/c checklist for myself - flaps set, trim set, tailwheel locked (I keep forgetting that one), etc. Maybe adding a single line item to your list to check aircraft would be helpful as a reminder to run the a/c checks, perhaps just before "Duenna - ready to accept baton." I'm still getting used to the taildraggers and the torque and need the extra reminders. I keep finding myself fiddling with the aircraft after accepting the baton, which eats up precious baton time. Just pitching in my two cent's worth.V/rCB

Hehe, yes the tailwheel thing is a bit of a pain :)If only there was a control light in the cockpit! While you shouldn't be fiddling with the aircraft after having posted "Baton Grab", that IS the time to run the final checklist: After being positioned, ready to advance the throttle. An idea: Open all needed subpanels prior to taking the baton. Then, as you are positioned, run the checklist. As all panels are open, you shouldnt need to fiddle too much. At checklist complete, close unneeded windows and/or go to VC. Roll...And another item for the checklist: Fuel selector at BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH

Sven,You are absolutely right about fiddling after baton grab. That's why we practice! ;-)Good call regarding the fuel selector.V/rCB

"[*]start Duenna"When you check the box "arm baton auto-pickup", you don't need to start it manually. When armed, it starts automatically after reaching a certain ground speed on the runway. And you don't have the risk of forgetting to start it.Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg

I'll post mine when I get home tonight. I have a pretty long detailed pre and post leg checklist written up (which I'm going to expand a bit as well...)--Mike
