Multi Mon

Featured Replies

Hello BryanI'm one of those multi mon menaces. I took note of the advice in the manual re the overhead and plumped for option 2 - doing the FO's work for him. Unfortunately, this is not quite what happens. In fact the FO does pull the correct switches and, as you would expect, the o'head panel then disappears. I would like to avoid this if possible - is there a way to pull the start switches manually afore the FO gets his hands on them. Alternatively is it possible to skip the ES phase without disturbing the overall flow of the program. Bud

Hello Bud,You can pull any switch before the FO touches them, just bear in mind however that the FO will still attempt to pull the same switch when he's programmed to do so.Paul Solk is my multi-monitor beta tester, perhaps he will have some comment.Engine Start (ES) can be skipped. All the best,Bryan

Hello BryanI hope to get a view from Paul. I've had a couple of bad experiences around the ES area. I've also come across one or two other issues which could be related to multi mon use. On the other hand, could just have been my incompetence. I'll do some more flights next week.Bud

Hi Bud,I have sent you an email so whenever you get a chance, shoot me a note with what you are seeing and I will see if I can replicate and if we can get it sorted out.In regards, to the F/O pulling switches, there are only CERTAIN switches that are affected and that the F/O will not be able to pull. Specifically, the switches that could not be simulated in the mini-panel will cause problems. This would include engine-starts, shutting down the APU etc... but anything on the O/H that is simulated on the mini panel will still be controlled by the F/O. The biggest issue was around E/S. Does that make sense?Speak to you soon, sorry for the delay, it has been great weather on the east coast so I have been taking advantage before winter comes :(-Paul

Have a Wonderful Day
