November 7, 200619 yr Bryan et. al.:I am trying to practice go-arounds, so I've setup a situation where I'm at 7000 feet, on the ILS intercept, aircraft clean, and ready for the Landing phase.I start FS2Crew, select skip the pre-dep checklists, and press start. Then I select the LDG button; but when I press the LDG button the FO immediately responds as if I've called "visual" on the runway. I continue thru the entire approach, calling for flaps, gear, etc, but I no longer get the "decide" call at DH, so I'm kinda left all alone when i execute the go-around.Any ideas? Do I need to begin at >20,000 ft, and start FS2Crew at the AB? I could do that and just 4X or 8X down to 7000.(By the way, based on my issue above, I gather that after calling "visual" it's no longer possible to execute a go-around?)Thanks,James
November 7, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hello James,It sounds like your Marker Beacon Ident switch is in the On position when you're pressing the LDG button.Remember that the Marker Beacon is tied to the Second Button.Make sure it's in the off position prior pressing LDG.Go-Around after calling visual: I'd need to look at the code and double check.Chrs,Bryan B. November 9, 200619 yr Commercial Member Yes, if you click the Secondary Button again at an altitude lower than the DA set on the Approach Briefing page, you will trigger Go Around Mode even if you called "Visual".I know there is no DA on a visual, so if you're on a visual just set the DA on the Approach Brief Page to something high.I just tested this in the sim and it works.Chrs,Bryan B.
