FS9 Frame Rates driving me crazy**HELP**

Featured Replies

Hi there, I am having big probs with frame rates in FS9. I do have alot of addon airports such as Heathrow Pro and Ultimate Traffic.I find that when Im at EGLL and have the traffic on, the stutter is so bad I cant takeoff or land properly. I have tried turning the traffic down but does not make much difference.Im put off flying from this airport as the traffic makes it busseling like it is in real life, or fly from it with no one around which makes it boring, I have even upgraded my memory but makes no difference. My PC details are as follows: Maximum Memory Capacity: 2048MB Currently Installed Memory: 1536 MB Available Memory Slots:1 Number of Banks: 3 Dual Channel Support: No CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel CPU Family: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.40GHz Model 3, Stepping 4 CPU Speed: 3400 MHz Does anyone have any suggestions?Kind RegardsGavin Moss

Well, Heathrow Pro is a demanding scnery on it's own. Using Ultimate Traffic is a real no-no at large, very busy airports. The reason is that is uses VERY POOR Project AI models (they were good back in 2002) If you relplace those models with ones from AIAardvark and EvolveAI, you will notice a big difference FPS wise. (they look better too!)The scenery and large numer of poorly designed AI aircraft is just too much for your system I'm afraid. For comparison, I use the original UK2000 EGLL (not pro) and have AI set at 90% with custom AI traffic from the above mentioned providers. My FPS is locked at 24 and it rarely goes below 23, even with UT Europe and AS6 running as well.Glenn

Ultimate Traffic uses very FPS unfriendly models. You just can't expect good performance with a lot of those AIs.
