Anybody know if there are any E190/195 models in the works? There is one freeware model available in the file library, but I was hoping for something better, either freeware or payware. I thought that there were rumors that Dreamwings was working on one, but when I went to their site I only saw previews of a Challenger aircraft and tons of porn spam in their forums.

As one of the members who helped Dreamwings with their 170 release, I think your question could have been better worded. Spammers hit almost every site now and then so why draw attention to that?. And "something better?"--I think it's time for you to get to work in GMAX or FSDS if you want something "better."If you need a 190/195, there's some AI offering in the file library.-John

More tact?!? Did I say anything negative about Dreamwings? All I said was the forums were overrun by a spammer...unlike any other forum I have seen, I did not say one word negative about Dreamwings or the E170. Have you visited their forums lately and seen the state it is in, it is almost completely useless. And what is wrong with me wanting something better than the model that is in the library already? Did I say anything negative about that one? No...so thanks for playing, better luck next time at trying to rip me for something that I did not say.

:-hmmm MarcoI responded to the reply already, I just think that a spammer attacking a website of a freeware developer is neither "here nor there" and does not deserve mention. Dreamwings certainly isn't promoting porn. Even Avsim has been hacked. And unless the author was referring to something else, even if I didn't contribute to the 170 project, I think Dreamwing's effort is the best out there.I believe Dreamwings was supposed to release a 190/195, but I thought the author left Dreamwings and thus ended their 17x/19x series.

Seems to me he was referring to something better than the existing E190 that is in the library! I don't see where he said ANYTHING negative about the the Dreamwings E170 - in fact, I think he was stating that he went to the Dreamwings site HOPING for an E190/195 by Dreamwings (meaning he was pleased with the quality of the previously released E170)What he meant as a compliment, you instinctively took as a criticism!Such defensiveness these days... sheesh! That's somewhat of a "downer" too. If he meant another model, my apologies but it's still someone's effort that they uploaded to the library gratis. And making comments about porn spam on a freeware forum is, as I said, neither here nor there. It didn't belong in the thread. I stand by my comments. If people demand freeware rise to their level, perhaps they should roll some out their own. Also, to understand why some are defensive, you should have read the junk sent to me on the Dreamwings Q400. I made a mistake on the .cfg file, but you'd swear I would have swindled the people who took time to dump hate mail--no other way to describe it--at my personal email. One author send me an email laden with so many expletives it would make a sailor blush. "Sticks and Stones" as they say, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If someone has issues being asked to more tactfully state a question and the only response is "quit being so defensive", maybe freeware authors should bail from the community for a while.John

Ok, once again, I am looking for something that is better than the E190 model in the file library here by Lurciney. I did not say that his model sucks or anything like that, I was inquiring about a better model. We all want better models, that is why we are here and why Posky, Dreamwings, SGA/Kittyhawk and others are around.My point about the porn spam, maybe you are reading too much into it, is that it is overrunning their forums and it is nearly unusable. Yes, all forums (I am a forum moderator for an AI program support site and I have seen it and dealt with it) get spam and it is dealt with, but not there, the old spam is not deleted and more and more (up to three pages a day) get posted. Back when the Dreamwings forum was useful, there was talk of their model and they said that other groups were working on an E190 as well. And I was hoping that something new was known.I have not ever ######ed to any developer about their products. I know it is hard work and something that is far beyond my abilities. I wish that others would do the same, and maybe some of the developers that have quit recently would not have quit. Sorry to get you all uptight with my basic question. Hopefully my next question will not be met with this hostile response.
