Default Clouds

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can get them? I replaced them with FE but after seeing the performance difference, I wanna try the default ones out some more and see if they are acceptable.

You can get them, along with all other default files off the disks. Head on over to AVSIM and search for fs9cddir.zip which will tell you the location of all the files on the disk and you can extract them to a Temp dir and then move them over from there.

On disk 2 there's a file named MSGAME3.CAB which contains the default texture folder as well as the Weatherclouds folder. Not sure which files you're going to need to replace though as there are clouds in both folders. You can use Winzip to extract MSGAME3.CAB to a temporary folder with "use folder names" checked and it will re-create the default folder structure within the temporary folder. You can then copy the entire texture and Weatherclouds folders over to your FS9 installation allowing overwrites which would restore all of your default textures. Use caution with this method however because it would also restore any add-on runway, tree, or other textures you may be using as well. It would be better if you knew exactly which files you needed to restore and replaced only those files.Incidentally, I made up a directory of the 4 disks myself a couple years back. You may be interested in checking it out as an alternative to the fs9cddir.zip that Mike mentioned. fs9cddir.zip is an Excell spreadsheet, mine is HTML based with clickable links. A matter of preference really, here's the link:http://www.cat-tamer.com/downloads/FS9_disk-directory.zipJim

And what an alternative that is! Don't need it right now, but it's a keeper. ;-)Thanks man!

Mike...

I thought FE did a backup anyway ?!?
