What flight planner?

Recommended Posts

After the "death" of FS Navigator, it looks like FS Commander is the only actively developped product left. Are there any other alternatives (for FSX as well)?Andreas

I just uninstalled FSNav a few days ago. That program has been with me for many, many years. Before I heard the news of the program being discontinued, my FSNav database just wouldn't rebuild anymore... I spent too much time managing it and not flying, so it finally had to go. It is going to be really weird to not have the old 'F9' key there in the sim...Anyway, I switched to FS Build. I fly almost completely GA, so the program was a little overkill for me, but it serves a purpose. It is nice to have a program outside of FS so I can import flight plans into ActiveSky first before starting the sim. FS Build seems to be a very deep program, and I'm only scratching the surface so far. The program is difficult at first if you are like me and bypass the manual and start messing around. (not the way to go). Once I got up to speed, it works great now. There is no moving map or any of those features in FSBuild... so if you are looking for that you have to go elsewhere.

> I just uninstalled FSNav a few days ago.> My FSNav database just wouldn't rebuild anymore... I don't know if you have installed the Norway Airports, but FSNAV doesn't like them.Disable them temporarily in FSNav DB utility and try again to rebuild.
