Is this a world wide issue or is it confined to a specific area?And if it is confined, do you have an addon for that area?Some addon developers modify coastlines to do things like remove beaches where there are none in the real world.As a tip, when posting screenshots it is helpful to shift-z to show coordinates so people can check their sim and compare.

In order to have shorelines in FS9, you need four components:1. A scenery file HL9xxyy0.bgl, which is in one of the default scenery areas. These files cover a fairly large area, (called LOD5) so it should be fairly obvious if one is missing. These files define the position, width, and texture ID number of the shoreline. It is possible for addon scenery to set a local exclusion to inhibit drawing any or all particular instances of shorelines from the default HL9 file. Note that the display of water bodies is a separate function from the display of the shorelines. 2. An entry in the config file, terrain.cfg, with the texture ID number that is specified for the shoreline in the bgl file. Terrain.cfg is in /flight simulator 9/ folder and is a text file. The texture entry for shoreline IDs specify the texture bitmaps to be used (per season), and optionally, a wave effect.3.
