White Dots Around Gauges

Recommended Posts

Guest soberon

I tried tweaking the fsx.config in order to get a better cpu performance but I got left with small white dots flickering on the edge of the gauges. So I replaced the original fsx.config , that I had backupped, but the dots stayed. Can anybody free me of this annoying things? And why doesn't everything go back to normal with the old config file?

What aircraft is this with? Is it a native FSX plane? Sounds like either a portover issue or perhaps the person who created the gauges used pure black on the bitmap (which causes a hole to show in 2D panel).

I think this issue is related solely to your graphic card drivers and anti aliasing settings. I have those dots too (with the latest NVIDIA WHQL drivers, which perform great), but they are so tiny I only notice them when I really look for them - no reason for me to mess with my graphic setup. This probably has nothing to do with your editing, maybe you have just noticed them for the first time.

If this is in the virtual cockpit, I believe it's a gap between the instrument and the edge of the panel cutout allowing the exterior scenery to show through (?).Art

It is with the default beechcraft and since I fly with it since the outcome of fsx it is not possible that I notice it for the first time. It really came suddenly after replacing the cfg file and restating the original. see screenshotthe screenshot is not clear enough but as the dots circle around the gauges rapidly it is annoyingalso the straight borderlines of instruments move continously from left to right

I have this too, default C172, when I turn on the cockpit lights at night. I'm pretty sure it has to do with gaps in the VC.... 180.48 drivers with nHancer

You might have it worse than others, but I think everyone experiences the dots around the instruments where they don't fit well in the panel cutouts. This occurs with the default Baron in full screen mode with the virtual cockpit. I don't get it in windowed mode, and I don't get the moving straight borderlines of instruments. If you move the eyepoint up to and just through the instrument panel, you will see the inside of the aircraft nose cone, which is bright white during the day. It turns dark at night, and the white dots at the instruments disappear because there is no longer any brightness to shine thru the gaps around the instruments. If you get the dots and lines at night, then there must be something else wrong.

Yes, the flickering is gone at nightI still wonder why it started after I put the original fsx cfg file back.
