I mean they specifically identified the issue, map projection. That's not the typical functionality limitation that devs have mentioned in the past. They can't meaningfully overlay the radar on top of their projection used for their terrain and airport map functionality. If they were provided access to the data it would be possible, but less so when you're basically handed a rendered output. I don't begin to understand the possibility of reprojection within the confines of the sim, but as a GIS enthusiast, the limitation makes sense to me. 🤷‍♂️ If you want things to improve, complain to Asobo about not giving devs enough access to sim weather data. This thing is quickly becoming my most anticipated addon of the year. Can't wait!

YMMV. I often do it for ini planes but not others, but I have more crashes with them than the others.

Whether he was talking to himself, an imaginary friend, AI, or his neighbor, he didn't say anything incorrect. This is the biggest flop for MSFS, imo. The whole thing has been a dumpster fire- the product, the developer's response and actions. 🔥🔥🔥 Thankfully xcrafts v2 ejets exist so I can enjoy the type in X-Plane. Luckily their 727 came out a lot better!

Man I remember when FDX was operating the 727 there. At one point I lived a mile or so down the road and you'd always hear the NW Airlink Saab 340s in beta, the Airborne Express MD-80, and the FedEx 727. Then Gulfstream invaded... 🙃 Wow just checked it out on flightaware and Delta is flying an A320 out of there and FDX is now using the 757. My little hometown airport is growing up. 🥲

LOL. I like to think that everyone in the US and EU have already paid for it- probably quite a lot (taxes $$$$$$). I'm just making the data you paid for available in sim format. 😇 Seriously though, if you like this kind of stuff, make sure you support NASA/ESA funding! 🤑

Woop, hopefully some more folks will try out my freeware scenery modification now that SU5 is official. It's not perfect now but it's probably as good as it's going to get based on Asobo's comments. External tools that push TLOD out to 600+ do help a lot > FL250. Make night flying way more realistic by hiding all of those silly street lights in rural areas like mountains, plains, and other undeveloped areas. This is awesome! Please keep it updated with your latest findings @JonathanC. Times are a changin' and more and more folks are feeling alienated by Microslop. Linux gaming is growing in popularity and new products like the MacBook Neo are going to get even more folks on non-Windows platforms.

I too think the cockpit visuals are pretty good, a solid “B” in my book. I’d rate the sounds even lower than you did, though. I don’t know why it is so hard for companies to get decent CF6 sounds, ini’s suck too. Barely passable grade for those. PWs are only marginally better. We really need Boris to do some CF6 sounds to show what’s possible! Overall I quite enjoy it. It’s part of the top, most used aircraft in my fleet among the various PMDG and Fenix birds.

I’d probably wait until you switch to SU5. The effect is not very good with 2024 SU4. I don’t know anything about modifying the effects themselves, sorry.

Honestly I have been pretty shy about advertising it since it still isn't working completely in 2024. Was hoping there would be more word of mouth from folks who enjoyed it. It gets a nice bump on the TO every week or so, but I suspect that will be over shortly unless I try to evangelize a bit. I do feel like a lot more people would enjoy it, but at the same time I don't want to be annoying about promotion.

Oh man oh man oh man. DarkStreets is saved! 😁 Fixed light exclusion polygons not working far away EDIT: This has not been entirely fixed- at cruise altitudes you can still see the effect a bit way out at a distance. It is way better though, and is at least passable, if they can't push out the range even farther.

Ugh fingers crossed they fix my streetlights exclusion LOD bug. 🫠

Hey, if he can put Mexico together in a day, all the power to him. I had been banging my head against it for almost a week until I came up with a decent result. Files should be up tonight or tomorrow at the latest, will post a link or something when it is ready.

Not at all. He probably saw this here though and wants to make a quick buck before the market is gone. This could have been accomplished for literal years so it is almost certainly not a coincidence. I plan to release the freeware package within a week, so it’s up to you if you want to spend money or not. Plus I will have Mexico and Canada.

The ones I am referencing with the bug are not baked in- you can see them disappear as you go forward and reappear behind you. They are light effects. They also acknowledged it was a bug and it is in their backlog. 🙃
