The old forum system is gone forever. We moved over to this system a month ago and we'll be using this system for the foreseeable future. As for the portal, it was / is an experiment, and one that we are still working with to see if it can be put to use without killing our processor resources. Based upon what we have seen to date, that's doubtful.

Okay, I misunderstood. The current view gets us closer to the appearance of the former AVSIM Forums. The compressed view also put an additional "bread crumb" between the index page of the forums and the forums themselves, that if accessed, would cause an error to appear to the user. We think that this is a better layout than the compressed view.
