weather radar in 737?

Featured Replies

hiWhat about a weather radar in the new 737?what do yuo think

Gotta sign you name to posts in this forum. Thanks.Regarding Wx Radar: Everyone would love it, some don't mind the fact that there is no radar info in MSFS; otherwise, most don't want artificial eye candy. No chance you will see it until flight sim has a weather engine that supports it.

Is it possible to include support for weather radar on the PFD from Activesky via FSUIPC?

Dan, active sky is does not have anything resembling wx radar. Sure, you can see blotches of green if you look at their map displays but this ain't anything realistic. This subject gets kicked around about every two weeks and like I said everyone wants it but without realistic presentations there will not be a pmdg radar. IMHO.I am waiting for someone to connect NEXRAD to a weather simulator like active sky... now you are talking something better but even ground-based radar is VERY different from airborne radar.

Makes sense; I'm sure if it was something easy PMDG would have included it. I never us the radar screen provided by activesky anyways, but I figured that something could be represented by the METAR info that Activesky uses to produce the weather. I could be wrong though because I might be confused about how Activesky get's it's info (I finally got it a couple of weeks ago).

i think that 757 pss has a weather radar integarted in the cockpitMiguel

I very much understand PMDG's stance on WX radar, afterall their not going to waste time on something that can't be done with 100% accuracy. All i'd like is the ability to integrate something like WX500 into the ND if we wanted to, so the people who want the weater radar cant have it, even if it wasn't accurate. It would also be far less work on PMDG's part, and maybe stop all the threads about it, lol.Rik
