strange problem with some apps on x64 OS

Featured Replies

few months back I moved to x64 XP and since then experiencing strange problems using .net based fsx utilities and likes. The first time I extract them from .zip they run ok but if I rerun them after few minutes they dont respond at all like dead. no message, nothing. What I can see is that their size becomes few kbs larger than original without the 'last modified; date changed. even marking them as read only dont stop them from getting corrupt. The only solution I have is to extract it again each time I run it.I experience this with tools such as aifpc.someone has better idea of what is going on?

I'm using xp64, and I don't have the same issues with .net as you are experiencing. Maybe a re-install of .net ?

virus infected computer?
Definitely sounds like a virus, or malware in FSX. File sizes do not just change like that and go to read-only mode.

using XP64 and no problems at all.
Well then unfortunately it looks the problem is more complicated than I thought as I am sure my pc doesnt have a virus/malware - no performance issues, hangups or unwanted things in my taskmanager. Also if it would have been a virus then not some but all apps would have been affected. Fresh install didnt fix the problem. I last reinstalled it three months back and is working stable.anyways thanks for the input, atleast now I know it is not x64 issue.
