Out of curiosity, what are the shortcomings of the default? Is Polderbaan not modeled?

Nothing out there yet, but I did hear that Aerosoft is working on one.

For anyone who knows (i.e. you're familiar with the airport), what is not modeled in the stock? The stock FSX airport is one of the "high detail" airports, so I am curious what is missing (a runway, a terminal?).

Did you ever seen a payware scenery ;-) you can't compare and if you happy with default just have fun :-)But only form the pilots perspective it's that the feel and sense is not close to real life lookonly to the A4 (that doesn't look like a road) lol and runway 9 hehehe...In general you have the main buildings and runway and airport layout, but you can't compare this default with real life stuff.Payware scenery comes at least a lot closer :-) or look at 36l/18r or Schiphol west and east and surroundings or that special approach to runway 6. (coming in from sugol, or river)Normally payware add so much more to the pilot approach feeling of being there :-)

Hi, yes, I've been around FS for a long time and have spent more money than I should have over the years on all manner of add-ons including airport sceneries. I find that I am somewhat happy with many of the default "high detail" airports, but I've never visited many of these in real life and can't tell how inaccurate they are compared to the real deal. Generally, I think the "high-detail" airports in FSX are close enough and tend to be somewhat frame-rate friendly. There is no question that a great payware version would be more visually stunning, but the price is often paid not only in currency but also in frame-rates. I also realize that several of the default high-detail FSX airports are aleady out of date (LEMD, KSEA and ZBAA come to mind).

I always fly cargo, so I am disappointed with the lack of detail by any of the default airports. flying around addon airport scenery made by quality companies just makes us spoiled I guess. All the correct buildings, parking, vehicles, atmosphere, etc. It's all there. Not with default. Looking forward to EHAM from Aerosoft
