Is the default King Air flight really bad or is it just me?

Featured Replies

The default Beechcraft Baron is a nice plane to fly, although the pitch response is too sensitive. As for the KingAir 350, well.....it handles like the default planes used to do in earlier versions of MSFS (in other words, it's rubbish). The Baron is wonderfully stable on final approach, but the KingAir bobs up and down like a yoyo!

The thread morphed into the Baron. I love the Baron. Nice flight model. No, the issue is with the King Air 350. Try that one.And then go here to fix it: http://www.metzgergva.de/default_e.htm cheers,Thaellar
oops!At least they are both from the same plane maker! :( I'll try the King Air....L.Adamson

FINALLY, I'm able to fly the Piper Cub and the King Air and really, really enjoy them. The Cub isn't erratic on the runway when taxiing and I can finally LAND without crashing. I assume that the real Piper Cub isn't as touchy as the FSX default makes it seem. I therefore assume that the fix from the below website makes it fly correctly.I also love the feel of the King Air NOW. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the heads up on this website. I cannot believe the difference in flying these 2 airplanes. They feel like PAYWARE now. Once again...if you haven't changed your config and air files found on the below website, give it a try after saving your FSX default files.Stanhttp://www.metzgergva.de/default_e.htm

Okay............... I finally tried the correct plane..Pitch sensitive as in a yo-yo effect. Move the yoke, and the nose bobs a bit until settling down. That I didn't like. Roll seems okay, with a sense of delay, but then I haven't been flying real life King Airs. As to setting pitch for assents or decents, I didn't have a problem with that, and no purposing. Except for that nose hunting bobbing problem, the pitch for climbs or descents look smooth; as I viewed them from outside also. L.Adamson

The FS2004 Cub had a computer related problem. Sometimes it was very erratic on takeoff, and would end up in a ground loop. And that was no matter how good of a pilot you are. And other times it was just fine. I don't remember if FSX ended up with this same problem or not.L.Adamson
