Is this normal after the ASA upgrade

Featured Replies

I have just purchased and installed the ASA upgrade from Active Sky 6.5. After this I see that AS 6.5 is still on my system and can be run as before. Is this normal? Am I supposed to manually uninstall Active Sky 6.5 now?

Hi,I think all the Upgrade needs to do is validate the fact that you do have a legitimate version of AS6.5, after which the full ASA installation takes place. As ASA and AS6.5 are different programs there's no reason why AS6.5 shouldn't still work as it hasn't been changed.I still have both installed and both work. Alastair

It is my understanding from Jim that you can uninstall AS6.5 if you like, but there is no real reason to need to do so. Hope I remember what Jim posted a while back correctly.

But if you now got ASA what use could you have for AS 6.5? Why not free up some HD space?

Hi,Remember that ASA contains no textures so if you wanted any texture snapshots, ASv6.5 would need to be installed. Thanks,
