May 12, 200917 yr Thanks for the wonderful review from Bert. I bought this addon early this year and found it (excessively) top heavy so switched to Alexander Metzger's AIR file instead, as I do with the default Cub and Cessna 172. The trim issues are also well known; this particular model is trim hungry! Using the original AIR file it handled like a model from X-Plane and would require a lot of trimming to stay straight and level. But once that has been achieved it flies really well, but it is highly sensitive to the trim used and any insufficient trim would tend to result in a nose dive, i.e. the aircraft would hardly oscillate about its vertical axis and there is too much momentum going down. It amazes me the differences one sees when flying: i. the default MS model; ii. Alex's modified flight dynamics; and iii. the Flight Replicas flight model. The first two are probably more "similar" to each other. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming A2A version performs (presumably with a Jerry Beckwith flight model, but I could be wrong.)In some ways the Flight Replicas Cub reminds me of flying the Aerosoft Bush Hawk, which has pretty twitchy flight dynamics as well.

I did pay attention to trim at all times, but found that (like a bicycle) the plane was very responsiveand great for seat of the pants flying. I'm sure that translating real world handling to desktop control is a compromise at best, but once I got a feel forthis plane, it really grew on me.. Bert
