Throttle heads missing in Saitek Pro Flight Yoke Systems?

Featured Replies

Hey gang,I finally gave up my X52 yesterday and got myself the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System (Yoke + Throttle quadrant). To my astonishment there where no extra throttle heads in the box. I was under the impression there should have been (that impression came from what I've read on forums etc, not from the box). Was my assumption simply wrong or should I take it back to the shop and request to have those extra heads? If I'm wrong I can only assume those extra heads come with purchasing the stand alone throttle quadrant, which I'm planning to do. (I also feel it's pretty cheap of Saitek to keep those heads as they can't be all that expensive after all.) However, from what I've read there's just one extra head of each kind which would mean I'll end up with three heads of each kind, making it impossible to fly four engine jets. Is it possible to get more heads anywhere?Oh, btw, the yoke is pretty hard to use. It slides fine in/out but it's difficult to combine turning the wheel while doing that with any precision. It's like it gets stuck in certain positions and I need to use a bit of extra force. Is that normal? Does it go away after some use? Cheers/Jonas

You are right about additional heads.I had that feeling too when switching from X52 (I still use it for fighters and heli). I do not think it will be less tension when times goes by, but You will get used to it. Try some well made turns and it will be much better after some flying time

You mean there should have been additional heads in the Pro Flight Yoke System? I've checked Saitek's web site and I really can't find any evidence there should have been (I think there should have been extra heads but that's a different story). Did you get those extra heads with the box?/Jonas

Nope. You have one throttle, one prop and one condition - all already mounted in. No additional ones. There are additionals when buyinh TQ separately

I suspected as much. But, then, how would anyone be able to set two quadrants up to fly four engined jets? Has anyone done that (using the Pro Flight stuff)? Is it possible to buy extra heads anywhere? (I have searched the net for that possibilty but haven't found anything.) It's a bit steep having to purchase a third quadrant just to get some plastic knobs... :( Thanks/Jonas

I expect that when you buy an extra quadrant it comes with enough extra heads but maybe someone who owns one could confirm this.Allard.

When you purchase a stand alone throttle quad you will get the additional extra/spare heads:(1) One four-way ganged throttle head(2) Two single black throttle heads(1) One blue prop head(1) One red mixture headThese are in addition to the three heads that come preinstalled on the throttle quad (black throttle, blue prop, red mixture).--Bob
