Add-on Livery problem

Featured Replies

Trying my first add-on livery to FSX PMDG 747-400X.Got the Air France model in FSX, Aircraft, Select aircraft.Selcted model but it would not changed the PMDG livery. So, I uninstalled the Air France livery and reinstalled. It did not work either. But now I get a warning message when activating FSX or when going to FSX, Aircraft option: "There are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names. PMGD747-400 AIR FRANCE. SimObjects\PMDG747-400".In the FSX\SimObjects\PMDG747-400 file there is no "Air France" title and the only file with today's date is the Config.file.1) How do I get rid of the caution notice.2) Is there some "trick" in installing add-on liveries?Any comments appreciated. Thanks, zach

If you have Vista, run the installer with admin rights. Make sure you check the block "show all variants" in the FSX aircraft selection dialog. I haven't run into the multiple objects problem (yet); perhaps someone else can help out with this one.

Reinstalled Air France livery with Admin Rights. Same results: livery will not work. But now I have three caution messages: "There are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names. PMGD747-400 AIR FRANCE. SimObjects\PMDG747-400".These caution message are fixed! I went inside PMDG747-400 config.file and found multiple copies of AIR FRANCE. I elimentated them. The caution messages are gone. Now if I can only install the AIR FRANCE livery.... I feel like an idiot.

Only a wild guess but: Are you sure you downloaded the correct livery (i.e. the FSX version, not for FS9)?

Alexander,Yes, I'm downloading the FSX liveries.I just tried United but got the same results. I can get United to the FSX/Airplanes folder. It show up fine. But it will not install to my PMDG airplane.Oh my. I must be doing something stupid. The liveries are 32-bit. I'm running Vista 64-bit...but that should not be a problem because I have no problem running PMDG747-400X.Also, got United (and Air France) to show up on my PMFG747-400 config file.I just can't get the model's skin to change.

Alexander,I'm back from the dead.I shut down FSX. Recalled it. Pulled up a non-747 airplane. Then went for the PMDG United 747 livery...and BINGO all is well! Thanks, zach
